Meet The New Landlord:
Alban’s Well Pub
Out of all the places, in all the world, St Albans, I choose you.
My name is Gary and I will be the new landlord of Alban’s Well. I am so thrilled and excited that I get to become part of the amazing community of St Albans. After spending 11 years working and living in London, I have, in recent years, dreamed of relocating with my young family to Hertfordshire, and now the dream is coming true.
My wife of nearly 5 years, Katie and my 5 year old daughter Hollie love the fact that we can now call my work home St Albans. When I am not at work, I love to spend my spare time with my two girls in our new house, cooking and entertaining for them, our extended families and our friends. Of course, I cannot always be at home or work, so any other time I do get spare is spent following my other beloved; Tottenham Hotspur (hope not to upset too many with that information). I am sure Katie and Hollie think it is the other way around and my spare time is spent at football and any other hours and minutes are spent with them (not true).
I have grown up in the world of hospitality and don’t really know any other environment to work in. I want my passion for British pubs to shine through to Alban’s Well and offer each and every one of you that walk through our doors some truly amazing food from the kitchen and the best drinks from our gorgeous bar. I am a traditionalist at heart, so combining my enthusiasm for great pubs and the wonderful history and surroundings that St Albans has to offer, this really is a match made in heaven.
The market in St Albans fascinates me, the role that it plays in being a huge part of the community. The hustle and bustle of market days gives St Albans the buzz that I am really attracted to and hope that Alban’s Well can replicate that buzz every day of the week. I have always fancied myself as a trader on the market, perhaps now is the time to add that to my CV.
That’s it for now, please make sure you pop in and say hi once we open, I cannot wait to get to know you all better. For now, I will leave you with an interesting fact about myself….
In the last 12 months, I have featured in the Times and also the Wall Street Journal, have a look and see if you can find out what for????
